Meet SSHO Training Requirements
This course can assist you in meeting your Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) training requirements.
According to the EM 385-1-1 Manual, an SSHO is a qualified representative that is responsible for on-site safety and health.
SSHOs assist the contractor's project management team with managing, communicating, implementing and enforcing compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan and other accepted safety and health documentation.
Contractors for federally funded projects are required to employ at least one SSHO at each jobsite. The primary SSHO is responsible for the overall management, implementation and enforcement of the contractor's safety and health program.
SSHOs are required to maintain their competencies with an additional eight hours of formal, online or self-study training on safety and health-related coursework each year.
